A Boy and His Dog

Jack loves Remington. He shrieks, laughs and ‘talks’ to the dog any chance he gets. He twists and turns out of our arms to watch whatever Rem is doing and even reaches out unprompted to try and touch the dog if he gets close enough.

Yesterday, Jack grabed a huge old clump of Rem’s hair. Poor dog, he has been steering clear of the baby today.

I sometimes make Rem lay on the floor in front of the baby so that Jack will roll over or stay happy doing tummy time. The dog is one of the few things that motivates Jack to roll over.  Which by the way, the kid is really getting the hang of rolling. It’s finally clicked that he can move and get what he wants if he moves. It’s very fun to watch.

Poor Rem, the love is NOT mutual. I don’t think he’ll ever accept his new role as dog not baby at our house. He eyes the baby with such disdain but he always obeys and accomodates my requests. His face in this picture is priceless…like he’s saying…’Really mom? You’re making me babysit this kid again? I’d rather be doing anything but this…”

Oops, I commented on the wrong post last time…
    Let me duplicate…

    “Good boy, Rem.”
