Jack Makes Friends

For those of you who know Jack in ‘real life,’ you know he is a pretty happy easy-going baby. He flirts in the grocery store, shrieks at dogs when we are out for walks and lets almost anyone hold him.

We have been on the go the last two weeks and Jack has been a trooper all the way. He has been stuck in the car, his stroller and on airplanes a lot lately, and I’m feeling pretty lucky to have such a sweet good-natured boy as a traveling companion.

Two weeks ago we made a quick trip to Bellingham to meet beautiful Lily:

What was supposed to be a quick 24 hour trip turned into an additional night on the West Side when I hit a major traffic jam on Snoqualmie Pass. Due to heavy Memorial Day traffic and two bad accidents, traffic was backed up 17 miles on the pass leaving me to either sit on the highway for 4 to 5 hours (what the highway patrol was predicting) or turnaround and go find a hotel. I was thankfully able to stay at Aaron’s aunt and uncles home in Redmond, but it was one of those surreal moments where I realized that I’m the mom, and I’m the one who has to make the decision about what to do…that truth is sometimes still a bit odd to digest.

Next, we headed to Park City to spend a couple of days with my parents. Uncle Paul was home for college and as the pictures prove, he’s a natural…

And Jack made one more friend…Willis. Willis liked Jack as long as he had treats in his hand. Willis didn’t like when Jack had a toy or treat he wasn’t willing to share, was playing on the floor where he wanted to play or sitting on Grandpa’s lap.

(Actually, Willis was awesome with Jack and it was hilarious to see Jack try and get him to interact with him. Also, how sweet is my father’s outfit? Nothing says rockin’ like a baseball hat, hoodie and blue heart jammie pants).

Seriously, thank you for commenting on your father’s “outfit.” Oh, Mike…

    He’s wonderful.

And it is fun to see pictures of Jackson with your family. I can sure tell he is loved so much by them.
