A Day on the Farm

We spent a day on ‘the farm’ last week.

We saw goats, sheep, horses, a HUGE dog (bull mastiff), ducks, chickens, baby chicks and a bunny.

During the first part of the tour, we were on the other side of that fence, but Jack decided he much prefered to see the animals from a safe distance. Also, all of the animals were ‘dog-dogs,’ including the horses, goats and chickens…

The animals were interesting for a little while until my little man zeroed in on this piece of John Deere equipment (I don’t actually know what it is. Aaron says it’s some kind of field mower). Jack loved to climb and sit on this thing and after making his discovery, had absolutely no interest in anything else.

He even invited his friend to join him…

Miss J wasn’t quite as impressed as Jack, but she nicely endured a few photos for her friend’s sake. These two basically swapped due dates (J born a few days before Jack’s due date and Jack born the day before hers).

All in all a very fun way to spend a morning!

Although I have to admit, I was exhausted after this little outing! A busy and on-the-go 1-year-old combined with pregnancy combined with lots of falling down, touching things you aren’t supposed to, a few tantrums and random dangerous/gross (horse poop) hazards and I was cooked by the time it was time to go.

Looks like fun! I hear you on exhaustion. After a morning at the park on Saturday, I was ready for naptime myself! And so sore that night!
