Feeling the Frustration

I keep thinking the week is going to get easier.

Two weekends ago Jack got a high fever. We spent several sleepless nights rocking our sick boy and when we took him to the doctor last Monday it looked like his ear infection from a while back never healed. More antibiotics and we were sent on our way.

Fast forward seven days and Jack appears to be the picture of health. His nose has dried up, he’s eating and sleeping well and is fever free. Until Sunday, when he wakes from a nap nearly inconsolable. He also flinched anytime we tried to touch his head.

With no other signs of illness, we decided to hold off calling the doctor. Until I saw yellow jumk pouring out of his left ear. A little searching on Dr. Google and I had a hunch his ear drum had ruptured. So…back to the doctor we went and Jack is promptly diagnosed with exactly that; a ruptured ear drum. We start a new regimen of medicine yesterday and I thought we were finally on the right track. Except that he woke up from todays nap with a 102 degree fever.

I am more than a little frustrated. And feeling awful for my poor boy. And losing patience, and feeling bad, and anxious, and hormonal. Rationally, I realize it’s an ear infection and eventually it will heal up but today, I just feel crappy.

On a much happier note, I really want to encourage you to check out this very cool blog I stumbled upon. This woman rocks and her words are straight from the Spirit. Enjoy.

I hope Jack is on the mend. We had back-to-back ear infections and I wondered if we would ever see the end of it. Hope you are feeling good! Can’t believe it’s now June!
