The weather was bright and warm. We drank coffee on the patio. Jackson was particularly adorable. He learned about a bajillion new words and charmed us 1,000 times over by lifting my shirt up and seriously declaring ‘baby!’
Have I mentioned how much he loves his Dad? He really really loves Aaron. Which, if I’m completely honest, is just a touch bittersweet but to see how these two adore each other (and let me tell you, Dada is just as smitten with his boy), takes away any sting of rejection when Jack reaches for/prefers/snuggles up to Aaron over me.
The weekend wouldn’t be complete without a big-boy haircut:
And feeling a little bit proud of the way our yard is taking shape after nixing the swimming pool:
Also, our garden went from this about a month ago:
Aaron, of course, is the rock star in all of this. He fertilizes and mows the grass. He makes sure the garden gets watered. He does the weeding. I simply walk the rows clucking and cooing at the growing plants, google natural ways to fight ants (cinnamon!) and eat raspberries straight from the bushes. Obviously, it’s a very equal and fair division of labor around here.
We are harvesting radishes and spinach and the raspberries, strawberries and blueberries are about to explode. So fun.
Hope your weekend was a good one as well.
