Uncle Paul came to celebrate Jack’s birthday. This was his first time in Yakima and he quickly imparted his love of biking with Jack in the way of youtube videos.
He also gave him his first bike; which was the the hit of the party
We ate lots of good food and my babies were loved on by friends and family alike.
We are blessed. No seriously.
In typical fashion, I bit off a bit more than I could chew, so I was running around and frantic. In between icing the cake and nursing the baby and scrubbing fingerprints off appliances and wrapping presents and making sure everyone had a drink or a napkin; I found myself stopping and just watching.
Aunties snuggling my baby and my friend’s babies like they were their own.
Dear friends in every corner of the house, laughing and swapping babies, mingling with family as if everyone has known each other for years.
Uncles playing an intense game of football but intermittently stopping to hug on their nephew or retrieve a wayward toy for a little person.
Little ones running around in the backyard, playing and yelling and making up games.
Aaron and I fell into bed Sunday night beyond exhausted but oh so grateful for this beautiful, chaotic, amazing, crazy life.
Our family is priceless. Our friends are amazing.
We are thankful.
And Jack is two. So two. He didn’t skip a beat.
