Is it Christmas?

Jack loves to yell ‘Christmas Here!’ every time he sees brightly colored lights, Christmas trees or anything that might resemble Christmas.

We got our Christmas tree tonight, courtesy of the neighborhood tree stand. Aaron was grumbling because we weren’t going to the mountains like we usually do, but the guy at the stand was a sweetheart and Jack, who rarely warms up to strangers, was smitten.

We even got a photo:

Now we have Christmas Here and it’s ready to be lit and decorated. I think this might be the year Jack starts to ‘get’ Christmas.

I can’t wait.

Santa’s big present for the boys was delivered today. The snow is falling outside and I’m dreaming and scheming about cookies and crafts. We’ve pulled out the Christmas books, and I think we read ‘Who is Coming to Our House?’ at least six times today.

Tell me, is Christmas Here at your house?

Yep…Christmas is at the Kuhlmann house hold! I put up our tree friday and decorated it saturday night. Claire did an amazing job putting up decorations (that I proceeded to move after she went to bed)! I miss you friend!

I got out our boxed Christmas tree and put it up on Friday, and then the 2 oldest put all of the ornaments on. While most are right in front, they didn’t do a bad job, and were so proud of their decorating. Even better is that the kitten is spending his days un-decorating the tree, so the kids have plenty of decorating to do in the days ahead.

We are slowly getting in the spirit…stockings are up…some decorations are out; we will likely get our tree next weekend. Ian is keen about it all–I agree that I think he will really “get it” this year.

since we’re in California this year, it’s been hard to get in the spirit – what with palm trees & this 60 degree weather. plus, i left all my decorations & stuff in storage in bellingham because i really didn’t feel like moving it. so, this year is a bit sparce – a little tree in a little apartment, decorated with cheap crap from the dollar store. BUT, it smells divine. And I can pretty much see it from every inch of this apartment. 🙂
