Valentines Day

Facebook was cracking me up as update after update featured happy couples showing off  ‘shouting to the rooftops’ their love. Date nights and extravagant gifts, romantic weekends away and pictures of gigantic bouquets.

My how Valentines Day has changed over the years. From fancy dinners, sexy outfits and Hawaiian vacations to messy art projects and collapsing on the couch, too tired even to make dinner for ourselves. Although to be fair, we did greet Daddy at the door with a gin and tonic, a homemade card and enjoyed a rousing game of family Wii baseball. Even Lukey was into it. And, I did receive gorgeous tulips yesterday…and a Starbucks card.

Nobody is suffering from a lack of LOVE around here. It just doesn’t quite have the same flair it used to.

I still wouldn’t change a thing.

Because, I get these two:

And even more, this guy is their Dad (and my soul mate and my best friend and my favorite person ever). I am a lucky lucky girl.

Happy Valentines Day!
