The State of Our Nest

(I think I stole this header from someone…but I couldn’t find it…so i’ll just go with it)

After waiting for what feels like an eternity for spring to come, we finally had the sunshine AND warmth this weekend that usually hits sometime in April.

Our chicks are growing and loving their new outdoor digs.

We lost one poor girl to the dog, (unfortunately one of my chicks that would have laid green eggs), but the five remaining chickies seem to have acclimated well to being outside and thankfully so far, no complaints.

I’ve slowly been collecting annuals and a few perennials when I see agood deal or have a coupon. My deck table is weighed down with fun things to plant, but I’m trying to be good and really make sure we are past the risk of frost. Maybe this weekend?

And to cap off the weekend, we planted our vegetable garden. Bigger than last year…a little more thoughful…a lot more excited.
