Is It Summer Yet?

This has been an odd spring in our little Valley. usually by now, we’ve seen more than our fair share of 70 degree days and while the wind blows at night, it’s typically warm and comfortable during the day. This year, we’ve had rain and cool temperatures. Lots of wind and lots of gray overcast sky.

The last couple of weeks have been particularly frustrating because it will be nice for a couple of days, and right as you start to breathe a sigh of relief and get out the paper plates to eat on the patio, gray clouds form and the temperature immediately drops to frigid.

It’s a phenomenon. Really, you should try it.

So, today when I heard the hose running and rounded the corner to see this in the yard:

I had to laugh. The poor kid misses the warm weather as much as his mama.

Also of concern is that my 2-year-old can unwind a hose, turn it on, drag a dirty kiddie pool from across the yard, take off all his clothes and start swimming in less than five minutes. He’s industrious to say the least.

Is it summer yet? Please?

So cute! We are suffering with the rain (this is the 4th straight day!) and cold temps (the kids are wearing fleece!), but it looks more hopeful for next week.

Jack cracks me up! What a big boy! Before you know it, he’ll be microwaving his own mac n cheese.
